    Summary:

    Dale Feinauer received his Ph.D. in Labor and Human Resources from THE Ohio State University in 1983. He has been a Professor in The College of Business at The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh since 1983; teaching a wide variety of courses, (human resource management, strategy, change, family business) at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Dale has published thirteen articles and presented twenty-seven academic papers. He has engaged in consulting for over two hundred organizations in a variety of management areas including compensation system design. Dale has conducted over six hundred training seminars on five continents. Active in his community he has served on the boards of multiple not-for-profit, governmental and for profit organizations. Dale is a high energy facilitator who is known for helping groups find ways to collaboratively make good things happen. Dale was the Faculty Liaison to the WFBF for ten years and current is the Assistant Dean for graduate programs for the College of Business.

    The supervisor training session is focused on equipping supervisors with essential leadership skills, emphasizing clear communication, effective team management, and performance oversight. Key topics included strategies for providing constructive feedback, setting SMART goals, and understanding diverse work styles. The training also covered compliance with employment laws, the importance of documentation, and fostering a safe, inclusive workplace. Participants engaged in role-playing and group discussions to apply their learning in real-world scenarios, leaving the session better prepared to manage their teams and contribute to a positive work environment.

    Summary:

    Tony Renning and Chad Wade, attorneys with Renning, Lewis and Lacy. They will provide an overview of the changing legal landscape to the Oshkosh Area SHRM Chapter at the December chapter meeting.

    Tony and Chad will share their insights into state and federal legal developments from the past year -- including a review of the most significant labor and employment law related decisions (both from the courts and administrative agencies) as well as their impact on Human Resource professionals.

    Tony and Chad will also provide an overview of anticipated decisions from the courts and administrative agencies and provide insights on how the 2024 election results may impact legislative and administrative priorities.

    Questions from attendees are encouraged.



    Meet our Speakers:


    Tony Renning provides advice and counsel to employers and municipalities, including school districts, about their rights and obligations under federal and state laws and regulations. He advises on all aspects of labor and employment compliance, including wage and hour, leaves of absence, discrimination, harassment, reductions in force, work force management, employment policies and handbooks as well as other employment-related matters. Tony also has experience with labor negotiations, union certification and decertification campaigns, unfair labor practice litigation and contract administration, including grievance arbitration. He regularly represents clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, National Labor Relations Board, Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission. In addition, he conducts employment-related training for management. His primary client base includes private (various industries) and public (counties, cities and school districts) employers of all sizes.


    Chad Wade  provides counsel in a variety of labor and employment matters, including legal compliance and defense of employers under the FLSA, FMLA, NLRA, and employment discrimination laws. He also has experience drafting and implementing a wide range of employment policies from his time as in-house counsel for a Wisconsin municipality.

    Chad’s primary client base consists of private employers, public school districts, and Wisconsin municipalities.
